Abstract

The problem of learning the Islamic religion in Indonesia arose due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. The problem of this study lies in the barriers to using Google Classroom as a learning tool in the COVID-19 era in PAI subjects at YALC Pasuruan Middle School. This type of research is qualitative, with a descriptive approach, and data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and notes. The informants for this study were the Foundation director, classroom teachers, PAI teachers, and students of YALC Pasuruan College. The results of this study show that the barrier when using Google Classroom is that the technology still has many inadequacies, such as an unstable network, many students need smartphones or laptops to learn online, and there are still many teachers. Those who do not have them. Google Classroom cannot be accessed. Less proficient in using technology and social media. Remote learning means face-to-face discussions are complicated, and many students still need help understanding how to use technology in learning. Meanwhile, efforts to overcome the problem of using Google Classroom as a learning tool include schools explaining the use of Google Classroom before learning activities are conducted and schools providing learning targets to facilitate internet access for students at YALC Pasuruan Secondary School
